Founded on the
Latest Evidence
EXI is committed to scientific research, advancing the credibility of digitally-delivered physical activity and behaviour change in the management, treatment and prevention of long-term health conditions.
See the EvidenceEvidence, applied to each individual
Every EXI prescription is based on the latest clinical evidence and guidelines including the World Health Organization (WHO), National Institute for Health and Care Evidence (NICE), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) & Exercise is Medicine®.
Instantly collating and applying pertinent evidence and data for each individual, EXI is the SaMD – software as a medical device – that delivers safe, effective, personalised physical activity prescriptions.
EXI empowers healthcare professionals worldwide to prescribe physical activity as quickly, effectively and confidently as they currently do medication across 23 long-term conditions:
Anxiety, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic fatigue, COPD, dementia, depression, diabetes (Type 1 and Type 2), fibromyalgia, chronic pain, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, multiple sclerosis, obesity, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s disease, peripheral arterial disease, stress and stroke.

Scientifically proven
We partner with healthcare providers and academic institutions to demonstrate the health and economic impact of digitally-prescribed physical activity interventions. Where we are not bound by a confidentiality agreement, we are happy to share high-level details of this evidence.
Created by experts, backed by science
Our expert team rigorously examine the most up-to-date evidence and clinical guidance and embed it within the EXI platform. This is combined with analysis and application of powerful behaviour change techniques to maximise adherence and positive health outcomes.

Evaluation of the EXI mobile app in the provision of Physical Activity to a Multidisciplinary Weight Management Clinic

Determining the effectiveness of the 12 week EXI digital exercise prescription app in increasing physical activity levels in people
Clinical results that can scale:
We’re committed to ongoing trials and research, continually strengthening our evidence base in partnership with multiple clinical and academic institutions. We’re proving that digital prescription of physical activity is an exact science: a targeted yet scalable means to improve population health.
In clinical trials, results achieved by EXI members after 12 weeks include:

Physical activity works
There is now overwhelming evidence that any physical activity is beneficial for both physical and mental health, and that more activity is better. Additionally, for individuals with long-term health conditions, there is global scientific and medical consensus that the benefits of increasing physical activity far outweigh the risks. As a result, a progressive activity programme that’s tailored to individual health and fitness conditions – incorporating aerobic and strengthening exercises and reducing sedentary time – is recommended by every major health body as a safe, effective strategy to reduce morbidity and mortality and improve quality of life for those with long-term conditions.
Digital interventions works
Not only are digital interventions highly scalable, they are also perceived by multiple populations to be both useful and acceptable. Systematic reviews of digital interventions indicate that physical activity levels, motivation and intention to exercise – as well as awareness of physical activity goals – all increase following the use of apps to support behaviour change. Further systematic review evidence shows that interventions using physical activity tracking are safe and effective at increasing physical activity at a clinically significant level, across a wide range of age groups and clinical and non-clinical populations.
EXI Works
We explore the latest theoretical perspectives and cutting-edge research to identify clusters of behaviour change techniques that are shown to be most effective in changing behaviour and engaging individuals with digital interventions. We build these into EXI to maximise adherence and positive health outcomes.

Clinical Trials
EXI is committed to scientific research, advancing digital health, empowering healthcare professionals to reinvent the management of long-term medical conditions.
We are proud to partner with innovative, forward-thinking researchers to demonstrate the clinical value of our platform to patients and clinicians, and its real-world integration into the health ecosystem.
